Tomorrow starts the International Salon d'Agriculture in Paris. This is the biggest agricultural show in the world. It started in 1870 to ensure the genetic excellence of farm animals. There are competitions for cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, dogs, just about any farm animal there is. The winners receive a great deal of publicity and become national stars. You have until March 1st to catch it, so buy your plane tickets quickly!
This is the Limousine bull who won the weight prize in 2006. He weighed 1,318 kilos.

Oh my Dedene, what a magnificent bull. Do your animals (cattle) always have wooly fur? Is this for the cold. Mmmm, I love the bag. Hugs Jo
Oh no, the cattle aren't so well-groomed usually. I hear that they are put in cold tanks so they'll grow thick, winter hair, then blow-dried and curled with a curling iron to get that do.
