I met a lovely woman yesterday named Sue. She found me through a France expatriate network called Survive France (SFN). SFN is pretty useful for various aspects of French life but most of the people tend to live in the south or west of France.
Monsieur Titi is always completely amazed that I would invite someone over to the house whom I've never met. He finds the English/American tendency to hook up easily with people very strange. In the French culture, you just don't do that. You have to be introduced, then get to know each other a bit somehow before inviting each other over.
Sue and I are only about 1-1/2 hours apart. We had a really good chat. Sue is very involved in radionics and health analysis. I'll reserve my opinion about diagnosing health issues through pendulum readings. However I did give her a sample of my hair and I'll let you know what the results are.

I hope to be able to stay in contact with her.
Here's the recipe:
Chocolate Fudge Brownies
Makes a 9x13" pan -- feeds 2 (ha!)
115 - 120 grams of dark baking chocolate (4 oz.)
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup walnuts
Microwave chocolate squares until melted, stir to smooth.
Beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, 1 at a time, just until blended. Add melted chocolate, beating just until blended.
Add flour, just until blended, then nuts and chocolate chips.
Pour into a prepared (greased and floured) 9x13" pan. Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 35 minutes or until set in the middle. Let cool thoroughly, then snarf!
Hope everyone's having a nice weekend!

Oh, dear, I'll just have a bite, if you don't mind...
LOL! Can't wait to hear about your hair sample results! Sounds like you had a good visit and lunch with Sue. Your brownies look great!
Merci! I was just craving chocolate something, and brownies are the perfect answer. Hopefully mine turn out as well as yours look.
Sue's work sounds healthy enough, as is your attitude to inviting people in.
The brownies are, shall I say, perhaps a bit of a counterpoint to the above healthiness.
Oh boy! Another brownie recipe! I always use a box (they're really great), but was shamed into researching recipes for REAL brownies...from scratch. I always think of brownies as super duper easy, but every recipe I found seemed complicated. I may try yours :)

it's nice to meet someone and hit it off! I'm not sure if I would invite someone I barely know over, maybe it's because I came to France quite young so learned a lot of things the French way?
Your recipe for chocolate brownies looks absolutely yummy - it is a good job that I do not have the ingredients to make one or the courage to find myself a shop open on a Sunday otherwise it could be very dangerous indeed for my weight!
OH my dear Dumpling, I totally forgot. Mea Culpa!!!
I thought a little chocolate might be nice during this wet, grey weather.
Enjoy!
My husband worries when I go off to meet another blogger...but so far, they've all been nice. Glad your meet-up turned out well.
(I deleted my strange comment)
The Belgians have been visiting and brought real Belgian chocolate....I daren't go near the boxes too often...but what a difference some good chocolate makes to a dreary day!
Oh, another healthy recipe! Hugs.
Hello Dedene!
Thank you soo much for your message.
As you with portuguese, I don't understand english. I'm so sorry.
I wish you have good luck in your blog too.
I love France very much.
Kissies for you.
I love your blog.
Making brownies is a very relaxing process. Thank you for sharing the recipe. It's very tempting.
Good evening
Very interesting blog!
Any meal that ends with brownies has to be a good one!
I'm just going to have to pretend I didn't see that brownie recipe ... they look dangerously good!!!
And I'm curious what your hair will reveal!
Hello Dedene !
Je repasse un peu plus tard pour lire ta recette.
De retour de vacances il y a toujours à faire. Je vais être très occupée entre repassage et boulot chez mon Chéri.
Bises !
